Construction Report
Pedestal border using artificial leather

The first step was to cut the wood ledges which provide a basis for our pedestal border. The ledge in the middle was later on devided into two pieces to form the front face.

Afterwards all pieces were covered with a polyethylene foam film. Because of that the border feels softer while touching it. For every ledge we created a casing by cuting and sewing the artificial leather.

Artifical leather casing (turned inside out) and wood ledge with polyethylene foam film.

The casing and the foam film are fixed using sprayable adhesive.

In addition to the adhesive we used a tacker to fix the artificial leather on the insides of the wood ledges.

Fitting the border to the pedestal framework.

After painting the pedestal framework we screwed the parts from the inside on the pedestal.
